Western Tanagers are listed by the Merlin bird app as uncommon in eastern/central Oregon, but it's always a treat to see one. They have to rank right up there among the most flamboyant of northwestern birds. This breeding male, encountered in a pine forest at 4700 feet, appeared to be a little bashful.
