Title: Short film: A Night at the Garden
Post by: Robert Roaldi on April 11, 2021, 09:11:57 am
Interesting historical footnote, about 7 min long, https://www.niot.org/blog/oscar-nominated-short-night-garden?fbclid=IwAR27GbXk4ZqnYlXpXDXHU_cKDFWJ6s84JlHgeEL9V_m6p52BAVLlZ-kixKg (https://www.niot.org/blog/oscar-nominated-short-night-garden?fbclid=IwAR27GbXk4ZqnYlXpXDXHU_cKDFWJ6s84JlHgeEL9V_m6p52BAVLlZ-kixKg), nominated for an Oscar.

Introductory blurb from the site: "In 1939, 20,000 Americans rallied in New York’s Madison Square Garden to celebrate the rise of Nazism – an event largely forgotten from American history. A NIGHT AT THE GARDEN, a short film by Marshall Curry just nominated for an Oscar, is made entirely from archival footage filmed that night, transporting audiences to this chilling gathering and shines a light on the power of demagoguery and anti-Semitism in the United States."

No video there, just a gun in hand. Page does not appear to match your description. Bad link?

My apologies, wrong link. I wonder how many more times I'll have to prove to myself how important proofreading is. Here's the link I meant to include, https://www.niot.org/blog/oscar-nominated-short-night-garden?fbclid=IwAR27GbXk4ZqnYlXpXDXHU_cKDFWJ6s84JlHgeEL9V_m6p52BAVLlZ-kixKg (https://www.niot.org/blog/oscar-nominated-short-night-garden?fbclid=IwAR27GbXk4ZqnYlXpXDXHU_cKDFWJ6s84JlHgeEL9V_m6p52BAVLlZ-kixKg).

I'll update the original post as well.

Got it, and thanks. Very interesting in light of current Proud Boys, Qanon, Antifa, etc. Gives hope that these things, too, will pass. But does it take a war and a holocaust to make that happen?
