Well, I like the "posture" of the pelican. It looks like the bird tries to look at the photographer.

Five seconds in bird flight time is a long time. Do you really mean five seconds? Tell me what you wish the image to look like.

Hey, if you like it that’s all that matters.
It’s sharp but would be oh so much better if you had got it coming towards you not going away from you hence my 5 seconds too late comment. You can argue about the time, call it 2.5 seconds.

Mike, ok. What I like about this image are the details in the pelican's wings and the wing position. I think I captured enough of its head
to make it not just a "wing" image. I definitely would have liked to also capture the image you are suggesting. Thanks for looking and commenting.
It's the only way I learn.
