The Castle of the Knees. Nice.

These have a resemblance to the termite hills/mounds we have here in Goa.

These knees are part of the root system of the Bald Cypress tree. They help to stabilize it in soft ground and/or shallow water. They might also help the tree "breathe" thru it's root system.
