Title: Deepdale Cumbria from Dec30th the last day of freedom to roam
Post by: KMRennie on January 15, 2021, 07:26:28 am
The images were taken 30th Dec. later that day we moved from tier 2 to tier 4 and now of course lockdown. Deepdale is a lovely short valley that is easy and safe to explore, even in winter, although climbing out requires more skill and fitness than I now possess. As I walked into the valley the surrounding hills had a beautiful soft apricot glow on the snow but it had gone by the time I had arrived at a decent spot, earlier out of bed next time. Today we have lovely light and much more snow but I am not going to be a selfish idiot and risk others' health for a snapshot. Ken

It's a lovely spot. The horseshoe from Patterdale is a great route, particularly in winter, though Cofa Pike isn't for the faint-hearted when icy.
