Title: Phase One XF shutter count
Post by: wellcome86 on January 09, 2021, 04:42:37 am
Hi there,

I have the opportunity to get a XF with a shutter count of 15.600.

Is that a lot? Or not even something to worry about?

Thanks

Warranties on XF bodies can often range between 100k-250k actuations. I think 15k is reasonably low so if the body is in otherwise good shape, the count shouldn't stop you. Enjoy!

The shutter problem exists at the XF. The shutter on my copy broke for 18,000 shots. It cost me around 700 euros to replace it. After the renovation I was given an "improved" shutter. Half of my friends also changed the shutter, and the other half takes about 80 thousand pictures without problems.

The new Hap 2 bodies with the improved shutters are the best bet.
my experience is $1500 CAD for a new shutter after 30000 clicks, and a 7-8 week repair turn around on  a Generation one body.
If the body is inexpensive, it may be a good deal, but you should expect a repair around 25000 as that is the new body warranty cut off on the first generation bodies.

How do you identify the new body version ?
When did Phase One introduce the new version?
