A nice setting for the portrait.

We get house finches at our bird feeders, which aren't nearly as attractive.

Nice image and the colors of this finch are perfectly complemented by the lush greens.

Maybe. :)  And with a couple of big leaf maples in the background, perhaps this one prefers maple diversity in its surroundings.  ;)

Thanks, Pieter, I'm glad you like it. The soft feel is largely attributable to a heavily overcast sky. This was taken with an Olympus M 4/3 system; using their excellent 40-150mm f/2.8 lens, plus their 1.4x teleconverter, to yield 210 mm. Converted to full frame equivalent, that is 420 mm.
