Title: Question re: Panasonic's G9 Battery
Post by: raymond bleesz on June 21, 2020, 10:10:32 pm
The battery for the G9 has been in the battery charger for some time now, and yet, when installed in the G9 camera, the battery level is still low---why does the battery not charge up over a period of time????

Thank you---Raymond

Again---the battery was charged overnight--When put in my camera this am, the menu indicator showed a "low battery". The battery indicator should have shown a "full battery".

So again, what are possible causes of a "low battery" indicator and what are your recommendations?

Sounds like a bad battery, or possibly a bad charger. Do you have another battery to test?

I recently had the charger for my GF1 batteries go out, it looked like it was working but the batteries didn't charge. I had a couple of batteries, so I assumed the charger was bad. New charger solved problem.

Could be either a battery or charger issue. My batteries charge in 3 hours of so from discharged state.

Try an other battery or another charger for that matter.

I just bought a G9. It has a USB cable which introduces new possibilities.

When a battery is charging, especially in the first 20 min or so, it should get warm. Does it?

I'm thinking the charger should get a bit warm too. Are you plugging the USB connector into your computer, or using the supplied AC adapter?

I believe that not every computer USB connection has a current output, or enough current as required by such as the Panasonic charger.

Has this problem suddenly occurred after lots of successful charging cycles?
