Hi All.
Have just tried this latest version. It has some substantial changes from the previous one. Does anyone know of a good tutorial for learning this brand new ACR. For instance, where to find the feathering control for the local adjustment tool ? Is it hiding in plain sight?

Seems like several things are missing. Didn't double clicking the hand (from say 100% view) make the image go to fit screen like in Photoshop? The Magnifying Glass only goes between fit screen and 100%. I can't use the option key to make the MG tool go to minus to get the image smaller than fit screen. What could be a positive is it seems like viewing at odd percentages looks better...I'd still like to put the tools across the top as before.

No. They have been changed! RTFM (which these days is in one example, found in the URLs provided) ;)
The Hand Tool — The Hand tool has been relocated in the lower right of the ACR interface.
•With most other tools selected, pressing the Spacebar will temporarily access the Hand tool.
The Zoom Tool — The Zoom tool’s default behavior has been modified – click in the image area to toggle between Fit in View and 100%.
• If you prefer the Zoom tool to automatically swap to the hand tool when zoomed into 100%, click the Settings icon (the gear) and choose General > Zoom and Pan and enable “Use Lightroom Style Zoom and Pan”.
• When moving from one image to another in the filmstrip, the zoom percentage and location will stay constant. To vary the zoom between images disable Global Zoom Editing from the Zoom Level popup in the lower left.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am checking out some of the links, Julieanne's blog has some good info. I did discover that I can make an image smaller than Fit View by holding the Magnifying Glass and moving it left or right. It really does seem like viewing at odd percentages is improved. Is it no longer necessary to view at even percentages 25%, 50% etc... to gage sharpness or just overall focus? Still miss double clicking the hand tool to go to Fit in View...

I'd still like to put the tools across the top as before.
and so much space are wasted at the bottom of the ACR window... certainly people will get used to whatever sh$t adobe's UI designers will throw at them, but inability to place tool tabs where a user wants (left/right/bottom/up) speaks volumes about their total disregard to usability matters

The Zoom Tool — The Zoom tool’s default behavior has been modified – click in the image area to toggle between Fit in View and 100%.
If one holds down the Command key (on a Mac) while using the Zoom tool, it is possible to draw a rectangle round the area one wants to zoom to. Initially, at least on my machine, I am confronted by a greyed-out screen. It requires a right click>Actual Size to reveal the area selected. What's more (and even more unfortunately, in my opinion), that degree of magnification then becomes the new default maximum view, replacing the 100% view. To reset to 100%, you have to select it by right clicking on the image or via the little percentage box to the left at the bottom.
The more I try to fathom the Magnifying Glass in this version, the more of a mess it seems to be.

My first reaction to especially ACR and LR is that the interface is much improved.
Both interfaces have become more similar. To have all the tools at on side is much more convenient and clutterfree.
I only don't understand the pupose of LR version 9.2 - it was an intermediate stage that ony added confusion.

I really preferred the horizontal tabs used previously to select the different functions instead of the new vertical format. I read on a web site that there is some way to get most of the previous UI back but can’t find any way to do it. Does anyone here know how?

I really like the new update, amongst many improvements the layout with "single" mode which lets me know where I am at in my processing, the eye icon next to the tools that I have activated, the zoom tool fit or 100% view etc For the first time in a few years I can see the moment where I will leave C1, use ACR and greatly simplify raw processing with SOs, Panos etc with a single continuous flow within Adobe, all this for a small monthly fee.

Oooh... adjustment brushes are now pressure-sensitive with a Wacom.

I finally got around to updating last night. I expected some frustration, given the need to overcome 20+ years of ACR UI muscle memory. But it was smooth sailing for me on a Windows 10 desktop system. No problems, and I found the new UI easy to understand.
I tried out the new Select Subject on a few images where I had layers containing masks made with older versions. It seemed to be better over about 80% of the image, but the new select grabbed areas outside of the subject about 20% of the time. Refining the selection is definitely much better.
My only issue is a minor one. With the crop tool, when I left click and drag to reposition, the image slides around under the crop guide instead of the crop guide sliding around on the image, which I prefer. This behavior used to be an option, but I can't find one. Is there one?
