Portrait of a Puffin. (https://blog.parrikar.com/2020/05/29/portrait-of-a-puffin/)

A very nice portrait of a Puffin. There, corrected it for you :-)

That's a great set, Rajan.
Back in my Iceland visit we got to see puffins on the South coast, I think near Vik.
One of the fun things is to see one take off from a cliff. They start with a long dive, with the little wings flapping furiously, looking as if they have never flown before. But they quickly level off.
They can fly vast distances, in the air or under the water.
Amazing birds.

Love the head shot.

Ditto. And what glorious light!

Bill, Eric, Mark, Jeremy - than you.
Eric, my guess is you saw the puffins at Dyrhólaey. Did you taste them at the restaurants in Vík? Fulmars also have trouble taking off from flat ground.
-
Yes, I think my puffins were at Dyrhólaey.
They didn't pose as nicely as yours, and I didn't get that close to the edge myself.
-
my favorite is the first one!

What a superb light for this little guy…
-
Beautiful portrait of a remarkable bird! The close up is wonderful.

Rajan, they are all lovely but that first one just marvelous. This probably sounds silly as I routinely eat many types of meat but I could not knowingly eat one of those.
