I saw Dinosaur PP and Drumheller last summer, and I greatly enjoyed Dinosaur more than Drumheller. While the Royal Tyrell museum was nice and the very stripey nature of the badlands around Drumheller was cool, I enjoyed the exploration around Dinosaur. The public trails have lots to see, but the tours are also worthwhile as well to access parts of the park off the beaten path that are otherwise restricted. Make sure to get there before sunrise when the trails are deserted and photo ops are at their best. We stayed in Brooks which is about 30-45 min southwest of dinosaur PP.

There are some other badlands areas nearby Drumheller like HorseThief Canyon and Horseshoe Canyon that I was interested in, but didn't get a chance to go to either and can't comment further about them. I found the "Hoodoos Trail" just southeast of Drumheller a bit meh and over touristy.
