I am running Bridge 10.0.2.131 on a new MacBook Pro 16" with 64GB RAM and the AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 8GB, macOS 10.15.2, an external EIZO CG2790 and a Wacom Intuos Pro M.
While Bridge is generating 100% previews the whole computer get's very very unresponsive. The mouse reacts with a considerable lag (seconds) and switching between apps is delayed as well.
Activity Monitor shows up to 1500% CPU usage for Bridge whereas GPU remains at zero.
Camera Raw (Version 10.1.0.351) preferences for performance is set to custom: use GPU for image processing.
Any ideas?
Thanks

My first idea would be to turn OFF GPU acceleration in all software preferences and report any differences.

Thanks Rodney.
I turned Graphics Processor off in PS, checked the Box Software Rendering in Bridge and turned the Graphics Processor off in CR as well.
It's still running on all processors at above 1500%.

And still unresponsive?
-
Yes, still the same: all the CPUs at full throttle, GPUs at 0%.

That’s all fine, but again, you report the whole computer get's very very unresponsive so is that still the case?
You have a copy of Lightroom? Does it do the same generating previews?

Hi Rodney
Sorry, been busy...yes the whole machine is still getting very unresponsive e.g. switching between programs (command tab) is delayed.
I don't use Lightroom at all but downloaded Lightroom Classic anyway: CPU usage upon import is around 1200%, GPUs 0%, computer doesn't slow down at all...
