Title: Photoshop CS6 to Affinity Photo layerd TIFF round trip?
Post by: earlybird on January 03, 2020, 08:46:57 pm
Hi,
I am experiencing the fact that a TIFF file with layers, that I prepare in Photoshop CS6, can be opened in Affinity Photo, but if I save this TIFF file in Affinity Photo,  Photoshop will no longer recognize the layers and so the image apperas to have been flattened. If I open this TIFF file back up in Affinity Photo the layers are still recognized.

When I save the TIFF in Affinity Photo I do not see any options for TIFF formatting, which is something I am familiar with when using Photoshop.

Is there some setting or combination of choices I may use to keep the layered TIFF accessible by Photoshop?

 Thank you.

yes you are right, but you can export it as apsd file and then it works.
About compression of tif: it seems affinity makes the choice how to compress. Not sure what they do, but they also seem to compress 16 bit tiff files ...
