I own a Nikon Z7 with both the 14-30 and 24-70 S lenses. It occurred to me that it would be fun to try using Nikons Focus Shift to focus stack an image from really close up to infinity. I checked and the 14-30 has a minimal focus distance of 28cm. In my 'artistic vision' I imagined shooting through some foliage that was mere inches from the focal plane to infinity. I actually tried this with some success using a Canon 24mm macro lens on a Canon mirrorless camera taking manual focus increments.
Of course Nikon doesn't make such a wide angle lens. So I started to ponder using extension tubes. I goofed around a while online and discovered that Kenko make a 10mm and a 16mm for Z mount. I'm wondering if anyone has any experience using these on their Z cameras and if so can you focus using focus shift and can you do so from infinity. Also ideally it would be great to know how close you can focus with the 10mm, 16mm or both combined to 26mm.
