I have a Nikon ES-1 slide adapter (to copy 35mm slides) designed to fit onto a Nikon 55mm macro lens. However, I want to use the ES-1 on a Canon 6D & a 100mm macro lens. Because of the focal length of the lens, I need an extension between the lens & the ES-1 to avoid cropping the slide. To accomplish this, I will need a 52mm male/female extension tube. The correct length of the tube might require a bit of trial & error. Does anyone know where I might find such a tube? My search has come up empty.

Thank you. I will look into that option. But if the 55mm Micro-Nikkor is not a macro lens, I suspect that focusing at 1:1 will be an issue. As an example, I tried to use my Canon 50mm 1:1.8 (non-macro) lens. Even with 68mm of extension tubes between the camera body & the lens, the lens will not focus at 1:1. That is why I turned to my Canon 100mm macro lens. Focusing at 1:1 does not seem to be an issue. But the 100mm focal length crops the 35mm slide. Hence, that is why I need an extension between the lens & the slide adapter.

If you go to eBay and search for “Nikon extension tubes K” you will find plenty of offers, one of which is this:

By combining several of those, you might achieve the required working distance.

Thank you for your time! Forgive me if I seem a bit confused. This is new territory for me. The extension tubes that I want will need to fit between my 100mm lens & the slide adapter. I seem to be able to get the necessary 1:1 focusing distance with the close-up extension tubes that I already have. (These fit between the camera body & the lens). However, the 100mm lens crops part of the 35mm slide. Therefore, if I understand correctly, fitting a correct-length tube between the 100mm lens & the slide adapter will enable me to capture the entire slide with no cropping.

you may need step up rings if the diameter is not the same as the CS-1 (52mm i believe).
There also may be vignetting.....

That is correct. The extension tubes I posted are meant precisely for that purpose, i.e., to fit between the front of the macro lens and the adapter (also known as the “working distance”), NOT between the lens and the camera.

Sorry to sound so stupid, Slobodan. But the extension tubes you posted specify that they are to be used between the camera body & the lens. I assume that is why the bayonet mounts are included in the set. Since I need to increase the working distance between the lens & the slide adapter, any extension tubes will have to have 52mm male & female threads.

Oops! Let me retract my previous response. The set includes a 10mm & a 20mm tube which can be used to increase the working distance. Now I just have to determine if that will provide enough additional working distance.

Correct. You need K4 and K5 from the set. They are usually offered as a kit (with the bayonet ones), but see on eBay if someone is selling just K5 and K4, in case you need more than one tube to achieve the proper distance.

Well, after trying to determine the additional working distance that I will need with my 100mm macro lens, it looks as though such a distance will be considerable. So I think I might opt for degrub's suggestion of buying a used Nikon Micro-Nikkor 55mm manual lens with a Canon camera body adapter. According to the instruction sheet provided with the ES-1 slide copying adapter, I might also need to add a PK-13 extension ring between the camera body & the lens to get the 1:1 ratio.
If anyone has any thoughts on this, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thank you.

Canon also has a 50/2.5 macro lens that goes to 1:2. It also needs an extension tube to bring it to 1:1, but wouldn't require a Nikon to Canon mount adapter. Filter size also 52mm. It is an autofocus lens, so you could use it for general photography as well.

It think that it would be more cost effective to get a used Nikon Micro-Nikkor 55mm lens & a Nikon-to-Canon adapter. Nevertheless, thank you for the suggestion.

Pick up a secondhand Canon 50mm f3.5mm macro lens and a 25mm EF extension tube. The ES-1 fits straight on the front. Easy, compatible and works well enough here.
Things to watch are that the ES-1 will rotate easily, so you need to keep watch that the slides stay level. Work stopped down if the slides have any degree of curvature.
