The lack of olympus style pixel shift on the nikon Z is not missed by those who shoot with this wonderful machine. Still, I marvel at the clarity without crunch that the GFX makes when you look at the raws. I am anxiously awaiting Nikon to add this in their next firmware update for those images with lots of detail where moire can be a devil. But theoretically, is there a reason nikon has not done this?

Due to its restrictions, pixel-shift is typically not a frequently used feature. Hence, I do not feel like it is a high priority item for Nikon.
FWIW, I'd rather expect GFX 100 getting pixel-shift than Z 7.
