Title: Profoto repair advice?

Hello,
I have the opportunity to get a couple of beaten profoto D4 for $50 each, both of which have a working flashtubes !
problem is, the first has a broken handle/cracked external shell
the second has a broken fan

so i was thinking to swap the good flash with working fan but broken shell, into the one with good shell

is it dangerous operation? is it possible? are there any high voltage risk when the flash is not connected to the generator?

I have opened up Profoto Acutes a few times and your plan seems fine. Is the fan physically broke or is it simply a connection issue? I had a noisy fan and if I remember correctly, make sure the flashcube is discharged, remove the flashtube, two screws and slide the internals out of the shell. I don't think that Profoto services those any longer but maybe Flash Clinic (NYC) or Silvino's (LA) may service or offer parts. I still own an Acute2 kit that keeps going and my strategy is to search eBay for pieces if needed.
