Thanks for the link,

Any info on price and actual availability?

I noticed with great interest that the 28 mm closes down to f32 while the 35 only goes down to f22.

It was mentioned before that the 28 mm would be a ZD only lens, is this true?

Either way, this baby is on my shopping list for X-Mas.

Regards,
Bernard

Hi
The news I heard from the German Mamiya dealer/agent was these lenses will be out 1stQ of 2007. He also said that the 28mm will work with film backs. Back about 8 months ago I saw a photo from a Japanese trade show with the 75-150 zoom, it might have been on the RG forms. So that lens was not a suprise to me. Nice range though as I use the 55-110 a lot. I just bought a 35 & 120. If they release the ZD in the US they should do a promotion with the 75-150 zoom, really push this camera as a DSLR. I would like to try that 28mm when it comes out.
Thanks Denis

Thanks Denis. Thats leaves me a few months to save some money... unless Mamiya means Jan 1st by Q1-07, which is highly unlikely.

Cheers,
Bernard

Is there an adaptor such that I can use the new 28mm Mamiya on my Hasselblad H1... I don't really fancy buying a H3 just to use their new 28mm lens! It would make me feel rather smug to be taking business away from Hasselblad. Heck I might just get a ZD wills't I'm at it, as I haven't "gone digital" yet! Mind you I'm sure we'll see a 34MP ZDII this year (well OK I'm guessing).

Same thoughts going through my head.

H1 -> Cambo miniwide -> nikor -> mam adapter - > mam lenses

It probably will work with the classic MF lenses but not the AF versions like the 28

I hate electronic kit and the  tie ins of all natures it creates

another example of this is that with the older mf focus mamiya lenses you could use them on a contax 645 body with a zork adapter..if you had some reason to want to..but with the new 28mm lens having no aperture ring this is not a possibility..whcih is a shame as a 28mm on the contax system would be very nice!

It will be interesting(and telling) to see how the Mamiya lens performs compares to the new Hasselblad 28mm lens with the digital distortion correction for it built into the Flexcolor software. I look forward to a real world comparison. The MTF charts for the Hasselblad 28mm lens are up on Hasselblad's web site. I have not seen MTF charts for the Mamiya. What if instead of the Emperor having no clothes, he turned out to be impeccably attired?

Good news - I wonder when they will ACTUALLY ship. I hate to rain on the parade but Mamiya have a terrible record when it comes to delivering product. I still have an order from 2003 for the infamous 26mm AF lens that never got further than the press release and web site.

Maybe this time they'll be better ...
