Title: Poplar Tree in the Sun.
Post by: William Walker on July 08, 2019, 05:33:57 am
I was inspired by the feature and video on Charlotte Gibb, this is my best effort.

The tree at the back - also in the sun - is a, (thank you Australia!) bluegum tree!

Thanks
William

I like the "dialogue" between the 2 trees, back and front. In this regard, I would crop the right hand side.

I do have another one that might be closer to what you have in mind...

I agree.  Perhaps also crop out the strip of grass in the foreground.  A B&W conversion might be more interesting as well - using the red channel for example, that would accentuate the highlights of the poplar and the large barren one in the foreground on the left.

Just some thoughts.  I do like it as is as well with the stars and the supporting cast.  The cropped one will be isolating just the the stars, so to speak.

Don't crop it, William. It's a fascinating collection of disconnected but related images.
