Nice video of Charlotte Gibb. I first came to Yosemite when I was a teenager and soon fell in love with mountaineering and rock climbing. Yes, it may seem, that Yosemite has already been photographed to death, but I still find the area to have endless possibilities. You don't have to photograph Half Dome, but I still do. It was quite refreshing to see that Charlotte's favorite lens is the 70-200 focal range. Her photographs are scrumptious. I've lived in Yosemite for over 25 years and still have not run out of compositions. I think there is something about a photographer like Charlotte who is able to refine her vision over the years she has been here.

Love this series and this video. I think this is a good way to show the artists, their work and how they think about and approach their work. Right in their own backyard, as it were. Not just beautiful images or or expensive gear. Beautifully filmed and produced BTW. Can't forget that! The 70-200 has become my predominant lens; that is until I broke it recently :'( While I really like her Landscapes, especially the 'intimate" ones, I found her Abstracts to be outstanding. And her willingness to experiment and try to find new ways to approach the Landscape (seeing really), is something that really resonates with me. Also enjoyed hearing about how she is trying to link her photography to people and explore the broader connection of people to the Landscape.

Enjoyed the video. First encountered her work in On Landscape - https://www.onlandscape.co.uk/2017/06/charlotte-gibb/ a nice interview (subscribers only I'm afraid) and I do especially like her compressed woodland scenes, very delicate eye and interesting compositions.

Very enjoyable; lovely images. More like this please.

Yes I enjoyed it very much also, but it does seem to be very dark (underexposed) in places when I view it and so I had to turn the screen brightness up to the very top.
Or is this just happening for me?

Dave, The video footage was very dark on my calibrated NEC also, as well as very subdued color - to the point of me thinking something is wrong.

Yes, that was something unexpected and interesting.
As others have said - more, please :-)

Thanks!

A beautiful, inspiring video. To be honest, however, I would prefer it without the music soundtrack, which I found distracted one's attention from the imagery and real sounds of nature.

I love this one. Thank you.

Just sitting with Nick Taylor now. Many more pieces from around the world coming. We are just plotting our next trips. A few follow-ups to Charlotte's piece will be published soon as well. I truly love these docs and I am very excited to build this series to share with the community.
Thanks all.
Josh.

Inspiring video well made and good photography...
Like the slow rythm of the video that suites the subject really well.
Good sound is always difficult especially when making a video solo.
So i can imagine some music is needed. But i also would prefer it with natural sound.

Terrific videos with Charlotte Gibb. I agree with those who say "more please." Her insights on intimate landscapes are spot on. I've been to Yosemite only once in the fall, but now I want to go back time and again.
