I am keen to see what you think of this one...
Thanks

What was wrong with the color version?

Love it, William.

Stunning image!
Wonderful interplay of light and shadow with sumptuous detail in all the right places...
I have no idea what the colour version looks like but this B&W just nails all the boxes!
I really miss vistas like these and cannot wait to get back to Africa (South) to drink it all in again!

Nicely done William. B&W looks OK to me.
-
+1, b/w is great

To clarify: I get the impression that this rendition lacks layering for some sense of depth. I don't get the impression that this image is about the graphics, so the question arises what the high contrast is supposed to convey? If it is merely about a faithful reproduction of a sunlit scene, then one naturally wonders what the color version looks like.

I see where Oscar is coming from, but I disagree. I think it's all about graphics, and very well done.

Good "light geometry" with the various light wedges and diagonal lines.

I like it a lot. I might burn in the centre bright area just a tad.

Colour version is fine but the B&W wins hands down!
And, so does your original judgement to make a B&W version...

Your B&W is so much more powerful, than the color...Great job.

I agree completely,
