Title: Full moon: Aurora HDR 2019 vs LR 6.0

Getting a moon shot without out the moon or reducing the rest of the landscape to darkness requires HDR.

Last night I thought I'd try using Aurora HDR for this task, to see if makes the same mistakes as Lightroom.

While it doesn't make the same mistakes as LR, it does make its own.

Not sure yet which will be easier to work with but the Aurora image seems much less complex.

Since the challenge in this case is the brightness of the Moon, have you tried just a two layers approach in PS (supposing you have it)? It only requires a simple mask.

Due to the way PS selects the bright part of the image to turn into an object to move the outcome is no better than LR.

Don't let PS do the selection.  You can do your own however you like.
