Title: (Fairly) straightforward astrophotography

Telescopic astrophotos are excellent (https://forum.luminous-landscape.com/index.php?topic=130366.0), but you can also get interesting images with less specialized equipment.

This was taken with a Canon 6D and a 100-400 mm zoom lens. 16 images, each 30 s, stacked in Photoshop. ISO 3200.

What you do need is a modest equatorial mount that can follow the stars for 30 s. I do not guide the mount, but it is polar-aligned. My camera is piggy-backed on an old C8 telescope.
