A blue hour shot from one of the very popular photo-spots on Skye.

Lovely color palette and smooth sea surface.

Blue hour, blue layered persuasion. Lovely.

Great shot Ken, I absolutely love it :)
Yes this is always a really good location for some seriously enjoyable photography, at pretty much any time of year and also at pretty much any time of day and pretty much in any type of weather - in fact I will probably end up having my ashes thrown across those wide corrugated rocks at the exact point where you were standing to take this shot Ken - one day that is, and not too soon I hope ;)
Bravo!

I have a problem thinking of superlatives to describe this scene. :)

Thanks everyone for your very pleasant comments. I arrived looking for drama in the form of surging seas or a colourful sunset but am glad that I got calm serenity instead. To add to the feeling as I was lining up the shot a pod of 5 / 6 bottlenose dolphins swam past about 50 feet offshore. Ken

Really nice shot and perfect example of long exposure scene.

Yes! A Wonderfully calm image.

Latest version, mostly darkening the foreground rock. Ken

Even better now.

I think that was good call. The eye moves around much better and makes that rock a more temporary stop.

Mmm, I can see why you did that and even though it is only a relatively small alteration, I do prefer the result. As you have shifted the brightest area of light away from the immediate foreground and into the mid ground, which in turn has given the shot a much more balance feel - good call Ken ;)

I really get a lot out of these discussions.
Love the image.
