Title: Fuji GFX Tethering - camera settings?
Post by: Christoph B. on April 09, 2019, 04:20:15 pm
So since the actual information on tetherin for Fuji GFX cameras in Capture One is rather limited (or non-existent) I was wondering whether my suspicions are correct or whether I'm doing something wrong:

Tethered shooting works very well but I can not control the camera settings at all. I can change the white balance and I can fire the shutter - but everything else (aperture, shutter speed, focus,...) is fixed and can only be controlled on the camera itself.
I've tried multiple settings on the wheel (manual control, automatic, "C") but nothing seems to help.

I'm not really in need of controlling the camera via the tethered connection but I can imagine a few situations where it would be nice to have that kind of control.

Am I doing something wrong or does the camera not allow for that kind of control via Capture One?

This was discussed at GetDPI and it turns out that Fuji hasn't shared their camera control options with C1 or if they have C1 hasn't implemented them yet.  I had the same experience as you with very limited tether functions.  Maybe in the near future........

Ah, thank you for confirming my suspicions!

As I said, it's not a big deal - it need be I can get a remote control for the camera or change the settings via the APP (which works surprisingly well).

And if they enable it with an upcoming firmware update or CaptureOne update, that would be even better ;-)

I have been shooting the GFX 50s tethered with C1 v12 for months and have always been able to have some control from C1 using Hasselblad H lenses with the Fuji adapter.

From the Camera Tab I can control:
- aperture in M and A modes
- exposure compensation
- metering pattern
- WB
- file format (RAW, Fine etc)
- shutter release
I can't control shutter speed at all from C1 when using the lens leaf shutter or surprisingly in Manual mode when using the body shutter
Nor AF mode but then there is no AF with the H lenses
Nor ISO (but that's set by a physical knob on the camera so...)
And although theres an option in C1 to select Manual, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority and Program that doesn't seem to stick, I'm guessing because how that works on the body depends on how physical knobs are set

From the Camera Settings Tab I can control various further settings related to File Saving, Image Quality, MF Assist, Live View etc but again not shutter speed or settings related to AF

I did test a Fuji lens tethered but can't remember exactly what worked with that. Most of it I expect.
