There is always a difficult to date aspect on your work. I like it.

Ivo, do you mean past or present? Well, this photo was made yesterday. But it's interesting, I hadn't realized black & white might be a throw back (to the past.)
Thanks.

I started noticing this on Flickr.
It’s not really about the B&W. It’s how you compose your images, the settings, camera position, etc.
Also your color work have that feeling. Your color scheme reminds me to certain Agfa films of the seventies.
I got intrigued a while back and tried to understand why I have this feeling.
I think you use a particular framing that reminds me to the kind of shots made with the fix-focus cameras in the seventies. Combined with, for me as European citizen, unknown locations and situations, sometimes a high Bagdad Cafe mood, I guess that makes it.
I like it.
Cheers Ivo

Ivo is onto something here.
There is something “something” about your photographs that makes it difficult to define, but easy to feel. I also noticed, and commented on one of your earlier photographs, the unusually pleasing, muted color palette.
This one is exceptionally good. I am just going to pile up my first impressions. There is something Monet-esque in that crowd. I guess the umbrella contributes to it. And then HCB-esque in the image geometry: the almost symmetrical leg stances of the two characters in the foreground, amplified by their well-defined shadows. And then there is something Elliot Erwit-esque (sorry for the overuse of the “-esque”) in the juxtaposition of the mother's almost blasé expression and the knocked-out kids.
P.S. Was this a Slobodan-esque critique? ;)

I fully agree with this Blagejovesque comment.

Thanks guys, much appreciated.
The best part of the ordeal (got sun burnt to a crisp) was watching a North American B-25 Mitchell flying fast at about 100m and hearing the sound of its two radial piston engines. Fantastic.
