That is a fascinating bit of history, Rob.
The photo of her now, as an attractive but very normal-looking oldish woman, shatters my memories of her from back then.

Eric, when I look in the mirror, I am instantly able to see everyone else as they - um - were! It's the kindness in my soul.

I think she and Bailey made one another, pretty much in equal measure: she came along for him at exactly the right period in life. Something that surprised me a little bit, in another interview I picked up on the web, was Bailey saying that he didn't make money from fashion, that he made it from the time he began to shoot commercials... guess that explains some of the problems many non-commercials shooters have discovered: fashion never was enough. And to think I thought it was only me.
