Title: Joshua
Post by: armand on March 13, 2019, 03:49:46 pm
Trying to come up with few representative shots. I'm still struggling with the last one, I have several versions but neither fully translates the experience of being in the middle of those cacti. Paradoxically one shot with the cellphone might be the best.

Thank you.

Few more. I'm thinking that the second of these 3 maybe characterizes the best Joshua Tree? Thoughts?

What a great subject! I wonder if a wider lens would allow more of the weird-plant-in-habitat style you might be aiming for. Nice light.

There are several shot with a Fuji 10-24 at 10mm (15mm equiv) so quite wide but when post processed I cropped them. When you are there you feel surrounded but the elements are not really that close for the wide lens to work as well. At home you are less taken by the experience and it makes it easier to see what I hoped it's not that bad when I was there. A little compression works better by bringing the elements together.
