The last 7-8 posted images on Instagram by Michael Kenna (gasp!)... all done on phones:

The last one (Geneva fountain) especially impressive, visually.

He must have a very good phone ... ;D
Seriously, Michael Kenna will be able to take outstanding images even with a shoe-box with a taped piece of film

I guess I'll have to break down and get one of them phone thingies.
I'll need one with a comfortable crank on the side for calling the Operator *so I can ask her how to take pictures with it.) :-\

All the link gives me is a set of his known photographs- nothing about using a cellphone to make any of them.
Maybe you have to be on Instagram to get into the part that you want us to see. Not gonna happen, afaik!

For your convenience, Rob. The first 8 are phone pics:

Hopefully to no-one's surprise they look just like Michael Kenna photos. :D

After I scrolled through the entire set, I started over at the top and found that by clicking on a single image, it would enlarge and give some info about how it was done (cell phone or whatever).
Honestly, the cell phone ones didn't look any different (better or worse) than the rest. Very impressive.

Using a different tool, while maintaining his vision. Well done.

Thanks for the post; enjoyed looking.
Love the response....'must have a very good phone' above...thanks Francisco too..

McKenna's prints are small so using an iPhone fits right in.

This is spooky! I just ordered a book by Michael Kenna which arrived yesterday. As I was looking through it, with the small sizes and large featureless blacks, I was thinking that most of them could be taken with any modern camera, including current phones. This morning I opened this thread for the first time.
PS. maybe I should get more into this Instagram thing, seems there is good stuff on it

Bosham Gallery (boshamgallery.com) has a Kenna exhibition currently. if anyone is in southern England it is worth seeing and Bosham is very photogenic.(Bosham is pronounced Boz-am!)
Best wishes,
Jonathan
