Title: 40-50mm lenses for cambo actus
Post by: tonutunnel on March 10, 2019, 02:21:45 pm
I'm looking to get a cambo actus system with the Nikon Z7 for architecture exteriors and also interiors. So ample shifts and minimum distortions, good resolution for modern digital sensors.

But I'm struggling how to choose the best lens around 40-50mm range. I see four main paths to go:
1) Nikon or Canon PCE/TSE lenses. Though they are the more expensive options and need fiddling with a nikon body to change aperture / rather expensive electronic lens board for canon.
2) Hasselblad FLE 40/50
3) Pentax 645 or Mamiya 645?
4) Something large format? I see Sinar Sinaron 45 and 55 lenses around 1000 euros.

Also anything good fixed around 18-21mm with image circle to for some shift too?

What works best for use on digital?

I'm using the Hasselblad Carl Zeiss Distagon 4/50mm and the Contax 645 Carl Zeiss Distagon 3,5/35mm together with my Nikon D850 on an Actus-B Mini.

Both are stellar performers. The movements with the 35mm is a bit limited. Might be better on an Actus-G.

Cheers

I use a Hassleblad 50mm F4 FL-E as a shift lens on my Sony A7r2 via a mirex adapter. Resolution is exceptionally good (I'm not at all tempted to get the new Canon 50mm Shift) and it's got a huge image circle. Don't be tempted by the cheaper/older non FL-E version as the resolution is not nearly as good at the frame edges.
