I enjoyed both the essay and the images. Certainly keep these coming!
While I might find things to quibble with in the essay, I found it readable and interesting. Images were great.

What!? Wow!
One man's garbage is another man's treasure.
Indeed, I recognize some common points with my own approach to landscape photography. The more I am able to "free" my mind of "noise", the more I enjoy my outings in Nature.
A good essay IMO.

I'd like to add to this ... fantastic photos, even better essay.
So many insights in his essay on how to become a better photographer ... which Bruce wonderfully summarizes at the end ... "become a more experienced and aware person". Regardless if we all don't go as far as becoming 'one with the universe', we can still grow as a photographer based on Bruce's personal journey and the wisdom he provides.
Josh - keep up the great work ... by far the best $1/month of my current expenditures :)

We are trying to offer an angle we feel is useful - that of the photographer’s inner motivation, meaning sets and experience, while still offering the type of material more traditionally seen on the site.
Much more upcoming this month, just getting on top of our site migration and clean up.
New user-features also in production.
Doing our best (while Irene is pregnant and we are hustling a toddler along! If people only knew)

Solid images. I like it and it echoes a lot of what I feel. I fully subscribe to the Japanese philosophy of forest bathing to clear my mind. I probably taint it a little by making my forest baths include photography and big efforts to get places at the right time, but I think I still get so much more out than I put into the endeavor. Between those sometimes intense moments of composing and making sure settings are correct, I feel a great calm and connection to nature as I soak it up.
My experience is probably a little less metaphysical than what he describes but even as a person who takes pride as being pretty rooted in this reality, it does feel a bit like magic.
Being mindful and aware of yourself and your surroundings will probably make you better at most things. My wife who teaches meditation and mindfulness would definitely agree!
