Title: A used camera warranty: Have value?
Post by: kevs on February 14, 2019, 08:21:17 pm
I lot of people on ebay boast about the warranty card their used camera has, but if they don't have the receipt for the camera, it does snot matter right? Isn't the warranty based from a time period (usually 1 year), from date of purchase?

You would need to contact the manufacturer for specifics, but generally if they don't have the receipt then they have nothing.
Also some warranties only apply to the original owner.

I recently purchased a used lenses on eBay that was faulty and the manufacturer did repair it under warranty, but I had to have the original receipt.

thanks Bob, that's what I thought. The lens owner sent you the receipt, and it was under year old?

Yes to both.
