After a few days of street adultery I come back to my real love: contemporary photography.

Ivo, what exactly are you trying to say with these images? They look quite ordinary and uninteresting to me. You say, these represent back to "contemporary photography." What do you mean?

Hi John,
Thanks for asking.
Yes, they look ordinary because the subject is ordinary.
It is part of our normal habitat. I try to find the reason why we do this ugliness to ourselves.
Is it urban complacency, or lack of money, or de focused government?
In ‘the west’ we still believe we are world leading, what a joke. We are a fat and lazy society. It reflects in this kind of urban contraptions.
I think men can see the level of society degradation in the suburbs of residential areas.
I’m not looking for beautiful photos, I want to photograph reality, yet on a respectful and visual disciplined manner.
Eggleston and Gruyaert are examples for me, yet, I use the style to tell something different.
I really appreciate you ask why, instead of nuking it down straight away.

Go back to the street ;)
I will, when I run out of ideas.

Same area:
The vent pipe. Why and who installed this awkward thing?
Triggered by this question I did some investigation and found an underground shooting ranche. This is something not evident in this part of the world. Guns are a bit outlawed.

Actually I ‘m getting in contact with that gun club in the hope to make a portrait of the users.
The club appeared to have a, in Europe, rather innocent name. Imagine this in the US

Another little investigation learned this is not only the name of the gun club, but there is also a dog club carrying this name.
So that’s the next spinoff series.
Dog clubs and gun clubs, housed in the same building, named KKK.

Ivo, that the western world is filled with junk is not in dispute.
That Eggleston is your muse saddens me; I think he could learn fom you, instead.
This is often the case with those embraced by gallerist philistines: they can represent not some apogee of artistic high-flying but more often the outer reaches of the unlikely and worthless.
Shed him and be your own guy!
Isn't all photography done today contemporary, however the artistic intent may be slanted? Anyway, what does a singer have to do with all of this?

Sing from his own page.
Eggleston is a reference, not more. I go my own hardheaded way.
What I remember from Eggleston is this: everything can be photographed on a decent way.
Gruyaert already left Eggleston behind with miles distance.

Yes it is, I use the word without any connotation to whatever art.
It’s my search, I don’t have answers yet, but seeking for a visual way to tell my story. And I want to do it on my way.
We are not there yet... I know,...

Don’t under estimate banalism, Slobodan, it’s the glue of civilization.
Makes me wonder, who is my US conter partner?
