You're on a roll, Ivo. The expression on that kid's face is priceless. This is another shot that fills the bill for street.

Nice but you needed the girl's face to complete it.

Lovely composition - which is in my experience the first casualty of 'street'.

Nice shot.

Right, Mike. The interesting thing about street is that you don’t have time to stand there and ponder the alternatives. More often than not, you raise the camera and the scene falls apart as you trip the shutter.

As I wrote in On Street Photography (https://luminous-landscape.com/on-street-photography/): “Fact is that even when you get good at street photography, you’ll shoot bags and bags of bloopers, a smaller number of not too bad shots, and the rare picture you should be willing to show. Beyond that, there’s the kind of picture upon which you’d be willing to hang your reputation. If you can average one of those a year you’re getting pretty good.”

...you’ll shoot bags and bags of bloopers...

We already have a forum for that.

We need a forum for that! Each member to post one picture once a year! Yeah!!!

There's no real answer to that as it's sometimes true but it's still remains that good composition is pretty much at the heart of all good photographs in almost all genre. You can of course crop after shooting which may help.

I bet Don McCullin would agree - including war photography.
