Poor guy looks cold. Where was this taken Jeremy?

I would crop the image to just above the black rock sitting above left side of the head of the monkey. The area above the monkey, where the snow covered branch start to jut upwards, is very busy and extraneous to the main focus of the image. It also leads the eye out of the image. By cropping just above the black rock, a nice circular movement is created, the environment of the monkey is maintained, and one's eyes get to rest on the monkey and his curious gaze. Maybe tone down any bright areas in the image, such as the sheen on the rocks.

I concur with John's suggestions.
Very nice portrait.

Nice one, the monkey seems to curse the sky as snow keeps falling!

John's suggestion is worth trying.

Jigokudani, near Nagano.

I'll muse on a re-crop.
