Well, I guess it was inevitable. I'm now seeing multiple ads on LuLa's home page that have nothing to do with photography. Is this by design?
Edit: Spelling correction.
-
I just took a look at the Home Page, and I did see a half dozen or so ads.
However, every one of them that I could find did have something to do with photography (such as gear, presentation, etc.)

Re: non-photography related ads. Irene and I have yet to change anything related to ad content.
Best,
Josh

@Eric: It depends on the cycling of the ad spots on the web page and when you are watching. If you watch while the ads cycle, you will eventually see non-photography stuff. Just ten minutes ago I saw these:

@datro - this will get cleaned up.
Thanks,

I didn't see any ads because I don't often peruse that page; however, as it would appear that the objection is about the appearance of ads, per se, what difference does it make if they are photographic ones or otherwise? If the site needs financial transfusions, then the bank is not going to question whence cometh the money. If you can studiously ignore ads for cameras, then you can do as much with ads for hats, bicycles or bikinins. No, wait, perhaps you may not wish to ignore the bikinis.

In the right hand margin of the latest article 'Summer on the Way' my cursor turn to a pointer and if clicked I am immediately brought to a 'Country Inns' ad. Hidden advertising??

Very strange. Clicking on any of the article titles or the 'read more' link below the intro takes me off to a new window advertising John Lewis pet insurance...
Here's the URL I see when I hover the links
https://eb2.3lift.com/pass?tl_clickthrough=true&redir=https%3A%2F%2Feu.impdesk.com%
And here's the URL I ended up at
https://www.johnlewisfinance.com/insurance/pet-insurance.html?track=dc_native_campaign&dclid=CM_7-s205t8CFaIx0wodQm8Mgw
Hope that helps with the troubleshooting.

It looks to me as if the new management has signed up with an Ad Network.
The Ad Network is giving them a story about how, of course, the ads will be custom-fitted to the web site and it's just a matter of tuning and whatnot. This story is a lie. Ad Networks shovel whatever the hell the automated bidding system comes up with down the pipe, and from time to time it will be a misbehaving ad.
There will be ads that invisibly (or sometimes visibly) cover the whole page, hijacking every mouse click. There will be ads that install malware. There will be ads with broken code in them that crash or freeze your computer or your browser. Just like on the rest of the web.
Install an ad-blocker now, if you haven't got one.

Same for me the read further link goes to a new page advertising John Lewis finance.

FWIW, on my iMac and on my iPad, using Safari as my browser, I have none of the ad issues mentioned in the other posts. There are ads, of course, but all but one are photo related (B&H…). I have never looked at any in any case. No issues with clicks on "Read more" either.

Hi there, this feature of "ad sense" and the algorithms they employ are elements of the previous management (perhaps left unchecked now). We are in fact going to be ridding the space of this kind of advertising shortly. Our new ad spaces will be much more pointed and topical and aesthetically approachable we hope. Apologies for any tacky ad links.
We are in the process of the site's first phase of clean up, regarding such stuff.
Thanks for your patience,
Josh

I use an ad blocker (WIpr) so I don't see any ads except for B&H which I don't mind seeing anyway since I buy from them regularly.

This just started happening to me (all links to articles and See More). I'm being sent to Pier 1 adverts, but I'd imagine they are random.
So until this is fixed LuLa is only worthwhile as a web Forum

I just cleared all of my browsing and cookie data (Chrome, Win 10) and the site is back to normal (for me)
