I t has always fascinate me the old doors in Italy, how many generations have come and go thru these doors.

Some more from all over Italy

Nice photos, Andres. I've had similar thoughts when in Italy. I try to imagine the times, when these building were new and the families who lived in them.
Is that second photo taken in Venezia? Wonderful city, visited it in early December, hope to return in two months or so.

Rob, I said goodbye to shooting solitary doors many years ago.

On my one trip to Tuscany several years ago I found the doors fascinating.
I may post a few (but in a different thread.)
I like these a lot, Andres.

Good set! I'm still fascinated by subjects like these and I will keep shooting them, solitary or not.

Actually I lied, just found this one I shot a couple of years ago, although it's more doorway than door.
Nothing wrong with shooting solitary doors but after doing so for many years I simply moved on.

Thank you, Andres.
They are certainly compelling subjects and all have a story to tell.

Yes Andres, some old world charm, though I sometimes wonder why those old buildings have not fallen already. I know!! They are being kept up precisely by the doorways!

Yes, you would think they are weathered on purpose! But that is the charm of the region.

Beautiful finds, Andres!

Which lens has such horrific barrel distortion?

This is a Canon 18 to 135. I have been straighten the lines in Photoshop but most viewers seem to like the barrel look on some photos. Yes some wished I have done about photos like these ones.
