Some landscapes by Ferdinand Hodler came to my mind.
I'd have subdued the white point in the middle left (water?) behind the darker masses

The horizontal sliver of water at the bottom make the composition feel cramped, cut-off. I would either extend it (if possible), to balance the vast sky area, or eliminate it, so that at least it doesn't attract attention.

This is nice Jeremy. Perhaps Slobodan is correct about the water but I think you could just push it back a bit and it would be fine.

Colors are muddy. Too much blue. Take that blue saturation slider down. I doubt this can really be fixed. I've struggled with muddy shots like this for years. And even if you fix the colors... it's basically an abstract of some peaks. If you really want to work on it I'd jack up the Blue primary to max, take the blacks all the way up, adjust exposure down, make sure there's no shadows, drop the highlights, take down the blue saturation slider to -40, purple -20 cyan -8 and go into split toning and pick a color theory color to add to highlights - probably an orange. Depending on taste, you might need to work on curves, and dehaze to make it either more hazy/dreamy, or the colors less muddy. It also appears you have some black peak artifacts at the tip of a few peaks probably from bringing highlights up and shadows down? Good luck.

Honestly it's been there for years, and I haven't really cared to change it, but good point... let's do that.

There's plenty of water, in fact. How about this? I've fiddled a bit with the colours as well.

The folds in the mountains could do with a bit more light I think, not knowing if this was sun rise or set, I would say it should have been shot just a bit later, or earlier. I prefer the later version with more water, tastes differ though.

I like the new version.
The water feels intentional, not accidental.
And nice balance.

I also like v2! IMO the soft-ish midtone contrast makes for a relaxing image to look at.

The second version is definitely better. I like this quite landscape.
