Happy new year all. I have a new Fuji Gfx 50R. My work flow has been to open RAW files in Bridge, select which ones to optimize, then use either ACR, or DXO to convert to TIF, and finish them in Photoshop CS 6. My version of PS and ACR do not recognize the new RAF files. My work around is to batch process all the RAF files in Adobe DNG converter. This gives me all DNG files which ACR does recognize. My question is: does DNG converter recognize the built in lens profiles, and apply them? During the camera set up process, I elected to have the camera apply lens profiles. During the ACR process, it does not list my Fuji lenses. This leaves my wondering, does The DNG process include applying the profiles? If yes, does the ACR process also apply them, even if it does not list my lenses?

if your DNG converter is Adobe DNG converter then optics correction from RAF files is passed as metadata to resulting DNG (non linear or linear) and it is up to raw converter to apply that... you can use a different DNG converter like Iridient X-Transformer which actually can (if you select proper option) apply optics correction to the resulting output (linear DNG file) or pass as metadata...
During the ACR process, it does not list my Fuji lenses.
Adobe has various deals with manufacturers - for some the deal is to list the OEM lens profiles and for some like Fuji to apply supplied optics correction parameters behind the scene - you still can see a note in ACR that embedded profile was applied... now having said that if lens is highly corrected then camera/lens manufacturer might not actually embed any optics correction parameters in the raw file at all
You can explore certain DNG tags ("opcodes" - https://www.adobe.com/content/dam/acom/en/products/photoshop/pdfs/dng_spec_1.4.0.0.pdf) to see if profile was supplied using tools like exiftool... ACR also (starting from some old version) shows info message in the Lens Corrections tab at the bottom if embedded lens profile was applied behind the scenes... you version may display it or it may be so old that it does not

Thanks DP. Your reply made my day. I had been depending on DXO to apply lens corrections for my Sony A7RII files, but that program does not support the Fuji camera. Your reply steered me in the right direction. I opened a DNG in ACR and there was a small note bottom right that says: "Built-in lens profile applied: GF 32-64mm f4 R LM WR. Click for more info." There is also right under that, a note that has a check box and says '"Show Grid". If you check it, it shows a grid I suppose to verify that there is no distortion. Very handy.
