Has anyone found a trick to use Canon Print Studio Pro with other (older) printer or plotter?
-
As far as I know it can be used with compatible printers; current and some previous Canon models are compatible. You would have to check the documentation. What specifically are you trying to do?

i have a canon pro 1000 on wich of course works perfectly. But i have also a pro 9500 mk II and a IPF8300 who would be great to work with. But as far as i know from the documentation (https://www.canon.it/printers/inkjet/pixma/professional_photo_printers/print_studio_pro/) the only plotter compatible is the new pro 4000.
This seems a little a marketing limitation for me to push people to make the upgrade.
what i was looking for is some trick to enable the identification of the printer. I don't think they changed so much to justify the incompatibility.

My hunch is that it still works w/ both of those (it did work w/ the 9500 in the past) so
the suggestion is ................
Try it !!!
current version is 2.2.3

I use it with a 9000 Mark 2 and it's fine.
What it doesn't seem to like are third party inks. I suspect it can detect them and then declines to use them and you get a colour cast.
