Nice photo Bob.  A B&W that does not look like it was shot in a coal bin lit by a blow torch.  :)

I had the color filter array and micro lenses plasma etched off the sensor.. so this is not a simple conversion to B&W

That's pretty interesting, modding for monochrome. I take it that once it is modded for monochrome, you would resort to the old-style filters used for B and W, if you wanted specific effects.

if you wish.. but post-processing effects is preferable since it leaves the raw file unchanged for the future.

I don’t understand that at all. If it’s a full monochrome conversion how would the raw file give you acces to information such as slightly darkening all areas reflecting blue light with a yellow filter? Such as was used traditionally with monochrome film?

What am I missing here?
