Title: Skout review - no thanks!
Post by: jeremyrh on November 12, 2018, 04:18:11 pm
On the basis of watching one minute of the video review, I don't think I'll be rushing out to buy one! Apparently the camera releases by rotating it through 90degrees. But the mount is anyway at 45 degrees to the vertical, so the additional 45 degrees before the camera jumps out and hits something hard looks like a bad idea. Also, it seemed like a big camera carried on a bike would be bouncing around in the gentleman's region.  Cycling affects your prostate score - this looks like an even bigger hazard!

I think I'd prefer the Peak Design Capture plate.

Sorry to disagree but both the Skout and original vest are wonderful for birding! Several friends and I use them and it has certainly helped my capture rate, my back and overall I highly recommend them!
