Title: Sigma Art Lenses in the rain?
Post by: sanvandur on November 08, 2018, 10:48:13 pm
Does anyone have any experience with Sigma Art Lenses in the rain? Do they hold up? I’ll be using mine in a Nikon D850. Thanks!

Not so much rain, but I use mine all the time in blizzards.  The more extreme the winter weather, the more apt I am to be out in it.  Using reasonable care, I've had no issues.

some ART have waterprotection others not (the first Arts not, like the 50mm and 35mm)

Keep in mind that while manufacturers might make a selling point of "weather sealing," not one of them will guarantee anything.  I see the "weather proofing" claim more as marketing than fact, and act accordingly.

In iffy weather I like carrying a Rainsleeve (or just a clear plastic bag & rubberband) even with "weatherproof" gear.
