Is there a way in LR to find photos based on file size?
-
No.

If you install the Any Filter plugin, it will do that. http://www.johnrellis.com/lightroom/anyfilter.htm

So does my Search and Replace plugin http://photographers-toolbox.com/products/jbeardsworth/findreplace/

That site doesn't give any clue that there might be any functionality in your plugin to search for file size.

Looks interesting, I wasn't aware of it, thanks. This is also an interesting option:
Buy a license at a price you name.

No, you're right, but it is there. It's also in the "Workflow Filters" part of the plugin that can be used without buying.

Maybe time to get that description updated then, sounds like you're underselling it.

For a project I had some time ago, I made a useful list of images by file size not in Lightroom, but in the Finder. For some purposes this might be a cumbersome approach, but it worked for me.
Start by selecting in the Finder the folder the contents of which you want to sort by file size; then in the search box type the file extension of interest; then click on the “size” column to sort by file size.

Not much use if you're looking across multiple folders or drives.

I ended up getting Any Filter. And if I use it I will not mind paying.

Oh yes, I updated the page just after I'd replied to you.

Why do you want to sort based on file size?

It doesn't appear that he's in it for the money (https://www.linkedin.com/in/john-r-ellis-a5414).
