The moments of light I treasure. Early morning light touches the face of Monument Valley. What a honor to bear witness to such spectacular beauty...desert true.

Thank you for this beautiful photograph.
As good as it gets !

Mark.
There are a lot of fine fotos on LuLa. And I appreciate them all for their mastery of the genre. But every once and a while one foto resonates in a way I didn't expect. There's something hopeful and majestic about this image that has a tangible power for me.

Excellent! The light is the thing, no?

The light is stunning. For my taste (and I venture to make suggestions about your photos, Mark, with much trepidation), it would benefit from a bit less of the rather boring foreground.

Thanks for the comments (and critique Jeremy!) I have with and without the foreground and honestly, I could go either way. It wasn't so much what the foreground held as it was the tonal changes and the effect it had on the light hitting the canyons. I like seeing the dramatic difference.

I just tried cropping by scrolling the image, and I feel it needs the dark foreground to set off the gorgeous light.

A very fine image.

Oh, I agree. I wasn't suggesting that all of it be removed; I just felt (feel) that there's a bit too much there, which distracts from the wonderful top third.

Wonderful light. I think there is too much foreground and too less of the sky, if I may suggest.
-
Agreed on both the sublime light, well-executed recording and too much foreground.
I'd crop half of the FG for starters.

Honeyed light. You did good keeping the Red channel from blowing out.
