Title: Image appears read-only in Capture One
Post by: Aram Hăvărneanu on October 04, 2018, 04:30:55 am
I have this one image that C1 simply refuses to work on (it displays fine). It's a grayscale step wedge TIFF file.

At first I thought C1 doesn't like the grayscale color profile, so I converted it to sRGB, no effect.

I then converted it to png, and jpg, still read-only.

Amazingly enough, if I take a screenshot of the screen displaying the image and crop to that image, it still refuses to edit it!

The file can be edited in Photoshop and Adobe Camera Raw without problems.

The file is read-write and has no extended attributes. The file can be found here (http://www.petermrhar.com/downloads) (21 step grayscale wedge).

What is going on?

Very odd.

I converted it to AdobeRGB and set the image mode in PS to RGB.  No joy.

Preview can edit it no problem, exposure adjustments etc, PS and Pixelmator Pro too.  So strange.

It's very strange indeed. The reason I am using this image (and similar ones) is because I am trying to understand precisely how the C1 sliders work, as compared to ACR sliders.

I have experienced the exact same issue in v12.

The image has two issues:
- It's grayscale (single channel). You've addressed this by converting to sRGB.
- It's too small in pixel dimensions. Up res and that will be resolved as well.
