One of my brother's favorite spots.
He and his wife have spent their summers sailing the Maine coast for many years.
But last summer he had some mysterious fainting spells, which resulted in time in a hospital until they think they got his meds straightened out. But they realized it was no longer safe for them to sail alone, so they have sold the yacht that has been their summer home for so long. Alas!

So sorry to hear she is sold. Wish we'd realized this was one of their favored cruising waters. Remarkable sailers and cruisers ply these waters (as well as those yachtsmen in possession of so much burdensome wealth that they need places to play with it)(could live a plush life many times over on just a single refueling of some, or a years maintenance). We maintain two deepwater moorings on the Reach and would have loved to have had your brother and wife make use of one on their travels. I'm sure sure they are missing these times but celebrating that it was a part of their lives as long as it was. Hoping docs are getting him sorted.

I'm sure the memories will sustain them.
He is now 82, so he accepts that he needs to slow down. They were visiting us briefly recently and they seem to be accepting of the changes, and he seems pretty healthy (for 82).

That is one of the best parts about them. Makes it easy to clean the bottom or make repairs without hauling out if you have proper and increasing tides. Sea legs can be carried if you aren't comfortable crawling around deck at 45° ;)

Thanks Paulo, can take no credit, that light is a gift we drink in with ever changing extraordinary variety every day and night. Always a living theater.
