Title: LR 7.5 are the bugs fixed ?
Post by: zobelaudio on August 27, 2018, 02:51:29 pm
Hi guys,
after updating the last time to 7.4 LR CC i am experiencing lags when displaying files like last year, when former versions took 8 to 12 seconds to render my 645Z files in the D-module.This was fixed with 7.2 or 3, but with 7.4 it now sometimes takes the same long time when opening 20Mp file like from the Sony Rx10. So before updating to 7.5 I'd like to know if this is fixed now or still as bad.
Anyone experiencing the same ?

looking forward to your comments
cheers
Stephan

I never found much of a processing difference from version to version in recent iterations, if anything I see improvements. I suspect what a given user finds is related to the user setup. In your case chances are only you can find out - download the latest and see...

I do not understand the reticence to upgrade. If it does not work go back to your backup and reinstall the latest version.

There has been a documented bug that causes the side panels to disappear.  I started getting it about 6 months ago.  It often happens when I minimize the window and then reopen it.  Only fix is to quite LR and restart it.   Anyone know if this as this been resolved?  I'm using LR Classic CC 7.3.1

Yes Brad, that problem with the black side panels has been resolved.  I encountered it too, with version 7.3

Some strangeness remains, or has returned.  Yesterday I tried wanted to use the Map Module but couldn't.  An error message read that the module was off line and the map went black and showed a map of the globe at night.  This happened continuously one or two versions ago, but was to have been fixed.  Suddenly, it seemed to have returned!

I closed LR (7.5) and restarted the software.  The Map Module has began working properly once more.  What remains is a problem to drag and drop to a location in the map - it often take a number of attempts until the images are actually dragged & dropped.  No amount of rebooting seems to correct that oddity.

I guess all computers (or better: all software?) get hung up at times and need regular rebooting and restarting.
