Title: Trainstation nr 3b
Post by: 32BT on August 13, 2018, 01:46:43 pm
Da beat took out his trusty 350, but apparently his handholding capabilities left something to be desired, plus it helps to select the right settings if you store a camera away for too long.

Just found this, Oscar.

I think you can make much more of it with some judicious concentration on the figures and darkening away the excess luggage in the rack above (and weakening the distracting brightness below them), but without losing the contrast in the interesting planes of that background.

Now I feel awful, but the shot seems worth some detailed work to showcase the kernel.

Best street shot I've seen on Street Showcase since early in its existence. Good shooting, Oscar. I think Rob's got some good ideas for cleaning it up.

Thanks, yes, the background is a bit distracting even though filtering ameliorated it somewhat flattenng the greens. There are two benches that have the most potential, but as can be seen in the other pict, the background for the second bench is nigh unusable.

In addition the 350 obviously doesn't do selective focus. I'm planning to set up the a7 there on a tripod triggered by the mobile thingy. If you wait long enough, something will inevitably happen. Unfortunately, there was a rather horrific accident at the station just recently where people apparently find it necessary to stream the entire misfortune live with the phone, instead of using it to call the emergency number.

That doesn't make me feel more comfortable setting up camp there.
