Title: Milky Way
Post by: Chris Calohan on August 12, 2018, 09:28:33 am
I like this one over all the others because of the meteor in the galactic center and because I managed to get the lighthouse in the lower right corner and lightning in the lower left.

I had a fellow down near the lighthouse flash his car lamps to get the light on the lighthouse.

Well, at least someone liked the shot...it's not crystal clear due to a light haze, but it is interesting.

Of course it would have been even better with an Osprey or an Egret or two.   :D

Super, even without a bird in sight…

It was a fun shoot save for the clouds of hungry mosquitoes. Getting the single meteor was quite fortuitous.

A clear skies photography night is worth any number of mosquitos. Just kicking back and admiring the sky, or fussing with the camera while listening to owls hooting - priceless. Necessary item for all night photo sessions - foam camping pad for stargazing.

I do dab my face and ears with DEET (then wash hands before handling camera gear), and clothing is permethrin treated.

Very cool with the meteor. If only I had mosquitos to deal with at my night photography, my fear is bears and mountain lions!
